Wow, just wow. I was so shocked and dismayed at watching a video of an RV inspector who up front said she knew nothing about Newells, continue to make a big deal of two solvable issues. Apparently her client declined to finish the deal based upon her findings. Her ignorance totally killed a deal on what appears to be a solid and well cared for coach.
First the minor water stain and her assertion there could be rot could be assessed in 10 seconds with a sharp pick just below her area of concern.
Second the loose aluminum trim piece below the door could be reattached in minutes with 3M VHB tape as it was originally.
This is sad that this coach was misrepresented by this videographer.
That said, any person considering the purchase of a Newell should understand there is no perfect coach, and some ongoing maintenance is the cost of ownership.
Arrrrrgh!

Richard, I had a similar response when I saw that video. However if the buyer let those issues dissuade them without further research maybe this coach was not for them. They may still be looking for a perfect trouble free 100k$ coach ……. I don’t know what that inspection cost but it seems that Deb could have been more helpful if she had done a bit more research…. ( It does have a big beautiful blue DD 60 though!

I actually commented on this video. I think both the inspector and the customer seem to lack understanding of how a Newell is constructed.
I had a similar experience trying to find an inspector to look at our coach before we bought it. I talked to one inspector and they had never even heard of a Newell. Most RV inspectors run between $800 to $1200 and hopefully they know more about sticks and staples RVs for that price. I was fine paying that but when I asked what they were going to inspect it was basically a surface inspection, whatever they can see on the surface, turn on lights, turn on faucets etc stuff like that. I was not concerned with stuff like that, as it’s easy to repair. Anyways from the sound of the end of the video she said that they had a buyer, so hopefully someone saw how good that coach is and purchased it despite the “terrible rot” ?

If I didn't have experience in mechanical things I would hire someone that has been there and done that like AZ Expert who is a hands on repair guy. Looks to me that both the inspector and the potential buyer have no business being in a Newell if condensation from the window and a piece of trim turned them off, as far as the window protruding show me something thats 27 years old and rolls down the road that is absolutely perfect. Not sure what the asking price was but it sure looked like a nice coach to me.

Yeah, well I knew it was Steve Dentons and then Pluto’s coach. Not only did I know how extremely well cared for it was when Steve owned it, I had the opportunity to visit Tyler and Hannah after they owned it for a year. It was immaculate.
I agree the original prospective buyer may not be the right Newell owner, and alls well that ends well.
I hope the new owners will join us soon.

First, congratulations to Tyler & Hanna for their recent sale! They kept up their coach to a high standard and looked better than when we owned it....great job! As FSBO sellers of a half a dozen homes we got hundreds of tire kickers and fully expected that when we put #525 (FSBO) on RV Trader, we have no problem dealing with that aspect. As you all know, the Newell is a special coach. In our case we had a lot of interest and interviewed the prospective buyer in the initial contact and in a half a dozen cases, discouraged the potential buyer form our coach as it would not be a good fit for their situation. Perhaps that is the case here with the buyer walking on such minor technicalities as these. As Richard stated, "This is sad that this coach was misrepresented by this videographer".
Again congratulations to Tyler & Hanna for their sale and above all an A++ for their part in keeping the Newell legacy alive, well and kicking during their ownership of #525!

"The engine is blue in color which I think is fantastic" is what caught my attention along with a lack of information on the Newell brand.
Great looking coach! Exceptionally clean.
Thanks!
