thanks- I will see if I can enter the reprogram number quickly. #9 is faulty so difficult to get a new code. the time limit exceeded before #9 works.

if the keypad is going to be replaced anyway, you might take it apart and try it. just a thought.

What action are you suggesting to try, once apart.  I wonder if the keypad is a common failure. this one was replaced two years ago. I notice Essex has a different style pad that does not appear to be piezo electric

i have replaced a keypad but not taken it apart on an essex. i was just reaching for ideas. i always try using contact cleaner on things.
