forest is right. IF they would have allowed it, then it wouldhave had to have drains, ventaliation etc.

the pit i bid was 50 feet long, 4 foot wide, 6 foot deep with steps at one end and heavy metal grating on top.

the 8x8x16 block wall that had footings, re inforced with rebar and solid grouted a pretty pricey, as were the grates.

i spent a ton of time on it after many of you emphatically said i should consider. maricopa county has very rigid vuilding coes and restrictions.

for instance i had to spend over $4k just for a drainage and grading plan including a topo map of the lot and have it all PE'd.

i know when steve b built his shop he didnt need any permits at all. and no inspections. here is not that way.
