Bathroom roof vent - dmsinnott - 09-23-2025

Hi guys - does anyone know if/where replacement bathroom roof vents or parts for vents can be obtained? 

We have one that opens but no fan, the other does not open (handle just spins freely) but fan works. I'm hoping they come apart and can be repaired but not holding my breath.

They do come apart easily.  The one that opens but no fan is frequently the little pushbutton switch accessible when the lid is open.  It gets a little corrosion on the contact and you lose the motor ground.  The cure is to get up on the roof and with the lid open, work the switch pushbutton in order to clean it up, very common.  It's called the "Dome Switch".

The one the handle spins freely could be a screw loose enough it became disengaged.  The lift arm or gear could be damaged but that's rare.  If you push the knob up what does it do?  Is the screw in the middle of the knob snug?

Thrilled to hear that these can be rebuilt, and poor customer service seems to be the norm now. Not all, but most. 

Will check the mounting screw on the freely spinning handle

Screw was on (very) tight, looks like the barrel connector from the handle that goes to the the raise/lower spindle in the assembly itself is either not fully engaging or is broken. When it failed, it failed quickly - the vent lid closed rapidly while I was holding the handle trying to open it. 

Just another project to add to the list. Good thing we as a group like to tinker.

I plan to ditch my fans and replace the entire unit. Want something that I can vent without having to have them open allowing rain etc in. Unfortunately I am not ready to do this project now as I have been covered up by other projects that need my urgent attention.

was installed over one of my fantastic fans. It works exceptionally well. Mine have rain sensors, but this makes the sensors redundant.

I've used those on other campers and like them.  Unfortunately on 1482 the fans are mounted so close to other obstacles they don't fit.

Those are ok, but they are usually not tall enough for the electric fans to open all the way. Not to mention then they are sticking up higher all the time, mainly a visual issue not a height issue. The new fans I am looking at do not require you to have the lid up to vent, they have a flap designed into them so they can vent even when the lid is down.

Yes, they do stick up a little. The awnings on mine mostly block them from showing. The Maxx Air is tall enough to allow full opening.

The one’s you’ve found do look very interesting. It will be informative to hear your thoughts on them after install.
