The reason I bring this up is that a wheel upgrade to a larger drum might also involve an upgrade to a new hub so that the bolt circle diameter will match. Then new rims are required. Even at salvage yard prices, the cost starts to add up.
This is correct. One other less scientific visual clue is that the Alcoa wheels for this hub have only 5 hand holes. I have yet to see another application that has 5. Current owner of 458 has also looked for replacement shoes and has not had any luck. He's thinking the best/only option is to send them off to be re-shoed unless you're going to convert to a different setup altogether. The other challenge if purely getting new shoes would be when you need new drums getting those sourced as well.
There was another member that dealt with related issues. I believe it was posted 4 or so years ago and I can't remember what their solution was.
